Virtual Apprenticeship

Floortrain are excited to announce the launch of our “Virtual Apprenticeship” delivery model.
Over the last 6 years, we have listened to employer and learner feedback and have invested heavily in researching blended teaching and learning models and have developed our very own acclaimed training App. The App is designed to offer great flexibility in how employers and learners can access quality teaching and training and is already an integral part of all our training programmes. It contains a wealth of training and support resources that allow employers and learners to choose where, when and how they undertake training and learning activity. The App content is huge and is built to support learners and workers in the flooring industry and includes sections devoted to:
Virtual Classroom Lessons
Online Workbooks
Online Knowledge Tests
Hundreds of Training and Demonstration Videos
Manufacturers’ Product Support Resources
Health, Safety and Welfare Guidance
Functional Skills and Personal Development
During the development of the Floortrain training App, we kept a close eye on the launch of the new "Floorlayer" Apprenticeship Standard and are pleased to announce that we can now deliver the "Floorlayer" Apprenticeship Standard training programme entirely at the employers workplace*
Giving control to the employer, the “Off-the-Job” training requirement of the Apprenticeship Standard can take place at a time and place that works around the employers’ busy schedules with dedicated 1 to 1 support provided by a Floortrain tutor.
This now allows us to engage with a much wider range of employers and learners, regardless of their location. It removes barriers and offers access to our training programmes for employers around the country who may have previously found the requirement to travel weekly/monthly to our state-of-the-art training centres in Doncaster and London too big a commitment.

Length of Programme

15-30 months*

The length of programme can vary from learner to learner due to many different reasons. All learners will undergo an initial assessment and self-evaluator to ensure the programme length and content is suitable and achievable.

Learners with some experience of flooring or who attend training sessions very frequently would perhaps be suited to a 15 month programme, whilst newcomers to the trade may need up to 30 months to gain the necessary experience and confidence to be ready to complete their end point assessment.

*Duration of programme subject to prior experience and course intensity
