Equality and Diversity

At Floortrain, Equality and Diversity is very important to us. We continuously strive to eliminate any type of discrimination and we have very strict policies and procedures in place that are in line with the Equality Act 2010. All learners, staff and employers are aware of and can easily access these policies at any time.

What is Equality and Diversity

Equality is about making sure everybody is given equal opportunities and are not treated differently or discriminated against because of their characteristics.

Diversity is about understanding that everybody is unique, recognising their differences and placing positive values on their individuality.

The Equality Act 2010 lists 9 protected characteristics all of which we at Floortrain respect, welcome, protect and value.

These characteristics are:

  • Age

  • Gender

  • Disability

  • Race/Ethnicity

  • Sexual Orientation

  • Pregnancy/Maternity

  • Gender Re-assignment

  • Marriage/Civil Partnership

  • Religion/Belief/Faith or None

When creating and updating all policies and procedures, the senior management team take into consideration the potential effects they will have on each of the above characteristics and use the opportunity to improve and advance how we treat Equality and Diversity as a whole. The team also regularly monitor and analyse statistics in relation to all of the protected characteristics for both learners and staff to eliminate any potential discrimination.

All learners and staff are actively encouraged to continuously improve their knowledge and understanding through regular knowledge quizzes, reading our policies and procedures, and by embedding equality and diversity into our daily work and sessions.

We welcome all queries and encourage everyone to voice their suggestions that will help and allow us to improve and advance our Equality and Diversity further. If you would like to get in touch, please Contact Us.

If however, you do come across an issue/problem that you wish to report or if you just need some helpful information, guidance or clarification on something, please do not hesitate to get in touch with us.

You can either Contact Us directly by phone or email or you can submit a query on our Safeguarding page.
